There are 2 Holiday Inn's in Guangzhou, City Center and Shifu. This is the Shifu Holiday Inn which is great. Tried the City Center location, very old, never again!!!
Beijing Street is approx 15 mins by taxi maybe more if traffic is heavy. The subway is about a 10 min walk from the hotel and there is probably a subway station near Beijing Street. How long will u be in Guangzhou? I can send u some info on restaurants, pearl store etc.

Not Beijing road, its known as the Pedestrian St. Its in the LiWan area near the north end of Qing Ping Market. It is a major shopping street for locals.
