  • God! What memories! I used to listen to Laser 558 back when I was 16, I used to watch Earsay as well, a programme which nobody seems to remember except me.

  • @IMAXGT From what I read the Communicator was scrapped but could be wrong. In the case of Caroline's Ross Revenge on the other hand its still afloat and being maintained by a volunteer group.

  • she was scrapped not long ago if you google bob le roi its all on there

  • Laser raped Caroline!

  • One of Charlie Wolf's best lines. "Never have a pissing competition with a skunk". LAughed my arse of big style. LOL

  • radio died when they shut this down!Radio is meant for music not for bloody adverts and the likes of Sarah Kennedy who talks through the begining of records the middle of records and the end of recvords! To talk about her bloody cat.The music is wot we want to listen to not the dj,s ego. Wolf man Jack was the ulti mate DJ. R.I.P>

  • great station, still miss it...i remember david lee stone, and charlie wolfe the best dj's of the 80's

  • Back in '84 I hated radio 1 with a passion, I still do, and I found Laser 558 and was hooked. Great memories.

  • Laser 558

Just stumbled upon it back in 1984 living in my bed-sit in South East London, very fond memories, listen to all day/all night it was fantastic, loved it Charlie Wolf was the best, really showed Radio 1 and Capital how to do it.

It's a shame it's not around now, what was there hook 58 Mins of music in the hour, just going through these videos brought back so many memories .

Wonder what happened to the MV Communicator?

  • best station in the 80's!!!!!
