Is it possible to micro a hero well enough to do it with them? I'm ranger and I only want to norn rep :D

Is it possible? Probably, although I've never tried it.

Yer, I've found a way to keep up Obsidian Flesh and because ranger armour max is 70 and already has +armour against elemental damage I don't need to take Amour of Earth so I can easily keep it up. They do take longer to die mind you as I need 6 skills to stay alive indefinately :D

Do I need max armor?

Both max armor and the insignias are required.

Geomancer insignias add protection from earth damage by adding +20 armor (+10 earth & +10 elemental) to your already max armor (which is 60) to ensure that the Vaettir hits are reduced to less than 33 damage allowing Stoneflesh Aura to absorb it.

If you do not have the insignias (wearing only max armor of 60) then you end up taking more than 33 damage per hit.

The amount of money you spend to build max armor is easily earned back from the farm.

No damage type conversion is needed for the Mantra of Earth's effects because Spectral Vaettir's deal earth damage naturally.

So, here's my question. How does the energy gain take place? There's no damage-type converter happening.
