An attractive team from Czechoslovakia have a fine performance to take the 4th place spot in the 1980 Olympics, as they has done at the 1979 World Championship (staying just ahead of young Torvill and Dean of Great Britain).

Always helpful to bring down the house with a popular song. 'I want to be Happy' rang the rafters allmost as much as the Militanos 'Beer Barrel Polka'!!

An earlier Czech team (Eva Romanova / Pavel Roman) had won the World Ice Dance title from 1962 - 1965. (They also were replaced by a British couple - Diane Towler / Bernard Ford - World Champs 1966 - 1969)).
