There are two types of distress calls made by baby American alligators. The Professional in this video uses both to call in a 6 foot alligator in South Carolina. The first call is a low grunt and the second is the higher pitched locator call. This also works at night when hunting and alligators are skiddish of spotlights. It helps to keep them up and on the surface while stalking.
When a baby alligator makes a distres call,ANY adult gator in earshot comes in a full on attack. Not attack POSTURE but an attack as in "Somebody's gone get an ass whuppin'".
