USCs IDEAs (Innovation Driven Entrepreneurial Association) welcomes author and New York Times reporter Jim Flanigan for an exploration of the insights gained through decades of reporting on the region's economy. Flanigan, author of a new book, Smile Southern California! You're the Center of the Universe! will take us on an illustrated spin through Southern California's economic history. He will be joined by Annenberg Dean Ernest J. Wilson III; Vice Provost for Innovation Krisztina "Z" Holly; Norman Lear Center director Marty Kaplan; and Chair for Partners in the USC Marshall School of Business, Mark McKinley. Reception and book signing to follow. This event is co-sponsored by the Norman Lear Center, the USC Marshall School of Business and the USC Stevens Institute for Innovation.
