  • is the pupil touched at all during the procedure?

  • The lens and iris (colored portion inside eye) is avoided. The pupil is the open space in the middle of the iris.

  • hey i had cornea ulcer and my parents and doctors are thinking about a transpplant of the cornea since i still got something cloudy in there..im 15 and im scared to get that transplant it looks painful..does it hurt??????

  • does not hurt. probably would be under general anesthesia and there is typically very little pain in the recovery period. usually just need tylenol.

  • halo i have keratoconus my eye is shaped like a cone( that wat the doctor said) im 16. is it bad to have my transplant wen im 17 or do i have to wait till i am in my 20s?

  • there is no correct age for surgery. it is completely made knowing all of the factors from each individual patient.

  • i can read these comments only due to my surgery. not painful. did experience high sensitivity to light afterwards. wish i had not waited so long...

  • Very nicely done. narrator is professional at describing the procedures. Thought this would make me sick to watch but found it educational. Thank you..

  • I had mine done when I was 20, Im now 23, everything went well. Had the odd stitch come out here and there, only went back under the knife once to replace a continuous stitch. But nevertheless, its been great. Vision has improved alot!

  • @therealgirljpunk

    ohh my!!I hope it'll be successful...goodluck!

  • Hey, I am 23 and had a cornea transplant a year ago when I was 22. I was given two options for the procedure: going under anesthesia, or do it awake under the influence of strong sedatives. I chose strong sedatives. It was not painful or scary at all. I was worried going in but the sedative takes care of that. The recovery was a slight bit painful but nothing more than some tylenol with codeine could handle.

  • wow thanks for posting this i always wondered what all my surgerys looked like i had this on both my eyes a several times..
