You sound like another one of those psychiatrists, psychologists, that tries to legitimize the field because you're probably over 100K in debt from a school that probably wasn't very well known by employers. That's the problem with this sick capitalistic society we live in-- anyone can put up a bogus product and profit. The mental health system has turned into another industrial complex run amok. Public opinion about psychiatric opinion can't help but have a negative impact on the individual.If the kid misbehaves medicate him to help the rest of the kids, medicate yourself as well so you can work more and be better, I don't know anyone personally that feels this way about psychiatry but myself, my own brother takes meds so he can make more money, I'm confused by the chosen ignorance here.

I'm a big fan of social selection and free will, realizing we can neither "save them all" nor allow our world to degenerate into a state of wholesale slaughter, starvation and so on as our global infrastructure crumbles under the weight of our peoples.

So...I'm not too opposed to personal choices like suicide, street drug use and prowling local bars nightly and getting robbed regularly in the early dark hours.

Another sin of pill--oriented Psychiatry is being accessory to "managing persona
