xt660's are fine on long jouneys, I know people who use them to tour europe, Nick sanders used one to ride down africa and a couple of other guys used them to ride round himalayas, me myself have clocked up 19000 miles in 17 months, use for commuting, fun and touring round uk

there a good bike but if you wna get a good touring bike id stay clear of single cylinders cause they will explode on ya if you goin very long distances its hard on the engine V-twin are alot better then you get your 3 cylinder and 4 and so on i have a cb600f hornet lovely bike and nice for long distance just alot of wind on you lol

Oh, Yamaha xt 660x is a bike of my dreams, but it's too expensive for poor polish student :(
