The top Congress leadership, including party president Sonia Gandhi , Thursday backed the government's plan to continue talks with yoga guru Baba Ramdev to dissuade him from going on an indefinite fast against corruption.Party sources said the Congress core group, which included Prime Minister Manmohan Singh , met here Thursday.The committee decided to dispel all impressions that there were differences between the government and the party over the strategy to deal with Ramdev's agitation, sources said.The next round of talks with Ramdev is likely Thursday night or Friday, sources said.The meeting at Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's 7 Race Course Road residence was also attended by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Home Minister P. Chidambaram and other leaders.Later, ministers dealing with Ramdev, including Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal and Parliamentary Affairs Minister P.K. Bansal, had a meeting with Mukherjee, sources said.The meeting was of the view that efforts should be made to avoid a confrontation with Ramdev over his proposed fast on corruption and bringing back black money stashed abroad.
The committee discussed the fallout of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) starting a preliminary probe against Textiles Minister Dayanidhi Maran over corruption charges during his tenure as the communications minister 2004-2007.The party will wait for the legal moves to be initiated against Maran, sources said. It will also consider DMK's moves before any decision is taken on Maran, they added.

Secretive meeting in Hotel Claridges Delhi between Govt. and Ramdev is not in right spirit.........the talks headed by a lawyer turned MP Kapil Sibal cannot be taken seriously as Kapil is "handa kanda" in punjabi means a stiff hardcore stuborn lawyer.....this Govt who had problem in just bringing out a notification on Lok Pal Bill.......do you think the Govt is serious to proceed further........Let the ministers come to pandal.......let us see the power of democracy.......
