This is again the complete level of the prototype, because of the bad quality of the first video.
Here you can see the following implemented features: an inventory, two NPCs, a questlog, gravitation manipulation, dimension change, timestop and (static) enemies.

The music was made by my brothers Ludwig and Paul Hanisch.

Tools used: VC++ 2008 Express Edition, 3dsmax, Photoshop, AS3/FlashDevelop (for the GUI), Audacity.
Libraries used: OGRE3D for graphics, Hikari as GUI, OIS for input, Bullet as physics engine, Lua+luabind for scripting, FMOD Ex for the sound.

I studied Multimedia|VR-Design at the Burg Giebichenstein in Halle ( http://www.burg-halle.de ). Visit my portfolio on http://www.fholio.de :-)

  • really well done !

how many people have worked on this ?

  • @denoykilah123 Thank you very much!

Well, I am the one who programmed the game logic and the editor; I also did nearly all the graphics (modelling, texturing, animating). A friend did some minor additional graphics, and my two brothers created the music.

But let's not forget the people who created the tools and libraries I used in the process, e.g. the coders of OGRE, Bullet, Hikari.

  • Wie langweilig, sieht aus wie Nomads ;]

  • @ewerybody Danke für's Angucken!

  • Very nice prototype--are you going for an indie game or a commercial game?

  • @IngramOfMichigan

Well, "indie" doesn't mean you can't sell the game - e.g., "World of Goo", "Lugaru" and "Braid" are all indie games. Perhaps you meant freeware.

I will upload the prototype soon on my website. But I also try to find some funding for it right now. So, anything can happen - but I won't be too sad if it only was my diploma project and nothing more. ;-)

  • @SargoDarya Thanks for the tip - I already know some of those crowd funding pages. Right now we have other projects (ratkingentertainment com) and we will think about this type of funding. But it probably won't be "Hals über Kopf". ;-)

  • If watching the gameplay is fun, then playing the game must be fun too. And I did enjoy watching you play :)

  • I've been waiting for something more than pics ever since i saw yer thread at ogre3d. Gj man

  • @wechselseitig

I believe that you will find funding for this project--it looks to be a very nice project so far. :)

(also, I do know you can sell indie games--I suppose I didn't use the right word...what I meant to ask is if you are trying to create a full console game such as Brutal Legend or Psychonauts or an indie game such as Braid, Limbo, or World of Goo.)
