David Fox talks about his early work on LucasArts games. He was a founding member of the Games Division at LucasFilm and was the designer, project leader, and one of the programmers for the games "Rescue on Fractalus!", "Labyrinth", "Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders" and "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: The Graphic Adventure". He also worked on "Maniac Mansion" as the primary script programmer. Fox was part of the memorable team that included Ron Gilbert and Noah Falstein.

  • @monkeyislandclub I totally feel you on that. I'm old school like you... Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge was my favorite. Still, Tales of Monkey Island is pretty awesome in my opinion--ESPECIALLY the storyline. Yes, I know it was a TellTale Games release, but still... I'm hoping they do another season of it. Without spoiling it for anyone who hasn't played it, the thing you have to do right near the end (if you know what I'm talking about) is...well... touching. And so true. ;)

  • The Millennium bug DID happen, but only in the games business where games developers and publishers starting losing their imagination and barely have any left, here, 10 years later!

  • Check out my rendition of Outlaws and Sam & Max Hit the Road on piano!

  • It was at "Assembly", 2004, a large annual gaming and demo conference in Helsinki, Finland. Lots of fun! Amazing to see thousands of gamers simultaneously playing on their computers, non-stop, for several days.

  • Ahh.. good-ole Lucasarts games.. with Sierra games that's gamers heaven.. before year 2000..

  • Thank you for this!!! Their games are THE BEST

  • Was the best company. WAS!

    1987-2000! Good times...

  • X-Wing! To this day X-Wing and Tie Fighter are still about as good as you can get for that genre of gaming.
