Description

This splendid Japanese wooden doll set features the images of a man and woman likened after the dress and appearance of the aboriginal Ainu who are believed to be the original inhabitants of the Japanese islands. Archeological evidence indicates that the Ainu may have once lived in villages throughout most of the Japanese archipelago, though today they are found primarily on the northernmost Japanese island of Hokkaido. The distinct dress, somewhat Caucasian-like appearance, language and unique culture of the Ainu set them apart from the majority of the Japanese population, who respect the Ainu and appreciate their culture as an important link to the past. These carved wooden figures are in good condition with only small marks and scratches and wear a beautiful patina indicative of age and past display. The figures dates from the mid to late Japanese Showa period (1926-1989).

  • あれ?この女の子は、以前「てるてる坊主」を 作り方を 解説した子じゃないですか? お久しぶりです こんにちわ~ ( ^-^)/゛ アイヌ夫婦の彫刻は、僕も 持っています。

  • @joyouslife4all hahahaha lol no, most of them are killed by japanese(TOkugawa clan). They are continuously exterminated in the sino-japanese and Russo-japanese war

The rest is assimilated but nowadays are being revived as a indegenous(Ainu) people of japan. Are you japanese? you should know more about their/your culture better before saying they are the origin of the japanese people of today.

  • @hpd707 Not heresy. Those you call "evoutionists" do not have religious dogma, therefore do not have heresy. We call it something else entirely -- wilful ignorance.

  • The Ainu resemble the natives of my GF's country lol

They even have "deeper" features than caucasians, but I don't think they're caucasians.

  • @joyouslife4all not quite, they were the first(you may say real) japanese, but the japanese that the world knows today wandered to the islands from the mainland and pushed the ainu northwards until most of them were only in hokkaido. so they are not the ancestors of today's asian population dominating the country.

  • i thought for a second your daughter was ainu

  • I saw an older Japanese couple this evening, both obviously having some Ainu ancestry. The wife reminded my of my grandmother, who was Native American and Welsh. The Ainu had "Caucasian" and "Asian" features, but that is because all humans have a common ancestry from the Middle East about 7,000 years ago. Heresy to evolutionists, I know.

  • Thanks for that, I think the Ainu people is a most interesting minority,as well as the Uchinaaguchi !

  • @joyouslife4all I totally agree, without yellow trunk Asians, there would be no white Europeans, since the latter mutated out of the first ones !
