Get out your flared pants, and crocheted vest! Grow your sideburns, and prepare to get funky.

This is an original, unrestored Orange Peel record player produced by the Voice of Music Corporation in Benton Harbor, Michigan in 1972. The Orange/White color scheme, along with the white tuntable platter, tonearm, clear orange dust cover, and spherical, white speakers with two-tone orange grills mark this as a quite striking early 1970's design,

The turntable will rotate at 16,33,45,and 78 rpm. The changer can handle 7, 10 or 12" records. There is also a manual setting to allow the listener to place the tonearm on the record manually. Controls are as follows: On/Off/Reject switch,16/33/45/78 speed slector, 12/10/7/M changer setting switch, volume, tone, balance, speakers on/off, and a headphone jack. There are 2 RCA plugs for speaker output, as well as 4 screw/spade output jacks or extension speakers.

http://www.thevoiceofmusic.com was instrumental in putting all of the pieces together for this Dynomite vintage sound machine.

  • What is broken about yours?

  • There is another one of these on ebay. Auction #: 230737935631 Orange Peel Voice of Music Stereo Record Player Model 346-1 w/ Original Speakers. It looks nice, but the price is up there!

  • For anyone that wants one of these, the turntable system is on ebay right now. It is listed as: Vintage VOICE OF MUSIC Orange Peel Stereo Record Player / Turntable

    ebay auction number: 300646766308

I have no affiliation with the seller, and am only passing the info along.

No speakers are included... I still cannot believe I found mine.

  • VM officially labels this player as: Orange Peel model 346 RG-2. The green version is model 346 GN-2, the purple is 337 LV and the red white and blue model is 337 WH. Good luck in searching for one, I have been looking for the other colors since I found this one, and have had no luck.

  • I have one of these but it´s broken. I would like to fix it, if anyone can help please tell me.

  • omg i wont the red one. is there pics of them

  • @slotrod Does this machine have a model number on it? I'd love to get one and having the model number would make it easier to track one down. Thanks for posting this video!

  • @lrd9999 It turns out that the Radio Shack "mystery changer" was actually made by Maestro in the next town over from VM's Benton Harbor, MI location, though the arm base might have been from a common vendor. It also showed up in some Motorola and Phonola portables. It can be found in the 1965-1973 Radio Shack catalogs which can now be found online. I've heard that Maestro took over production of the BIC 900 series turntables as VM fell into bankruptcy.

  • Grooovy...I'm digging out my fondue pot!

  • I am sooooooo jealous!!!! I've done my living room in a 70s retro style decor, and this would suit just fine!!
