J.L. Hudson's Building demolition on October 24th 1998 homage. Instead of showing the standard collapse and destruction of an iconic building I simply reversed my video while keeping the audio in tact in order to express my never ending love and hope for a city that will never give up.

  • The fall(commercial and literal)of J.L. Hudson's and Co. shows much the city has fallen. The cheering at the end for what happened to Hudson's disgust me.I love Detroit(or how it was)and am elated that the Book-Cadillac has been restored and hope that soon the rest of the cities buildings will follow suit, sadly though the Lafeyette has been lost too.But it was nice to see someone else misses such a monument of past detroit.

  • Being a movie maker is cool. You can change history. You can also take a negative and turn it into a positive. What folks like best about this piece is the "positive" spin I through down. Cheers for taking the time to comment!

  • And this was just the beginning.

Three years later, Target wiped out the Hudsons and Daytons label and replaced it with Marshall Fields. All Fields stores are now called Macys.

  • Awesome video dude! The motor city's still rollin!

  • You can't rebuild them and empty holes do not make neighborhoods anymore than they make centers of commerce. Dead is dead.

  • @marezed i heard detroit lost the Lafeytte recently. But...also found out about the Fox!The city should follow its example(yes no?)Here's to a restored/new Woodward Ave.(and a new Detroit) !also, got anything on the Lee Plaza?

  • Thank You

  • I can only hope that Detroit gets back on her feet again. My friends & I are doing as much as we can to help her so she can once again become a vital part of America.
