The Sterling end cap and recoil spring are round and the eraser is square. It may not fit right. I am going to try to find an eraser that is larger and try to cut a circular buffer from it. Most erasers I have seen are rectangular in shape and about the size of the one in the video.

@sidewindermack The erasers composition and flexability is more important than the shape, if it's not a gum-type material eraser it will not work as well or reliably.

@sidewindermack It should work on any blow-back operated machine gun. I havn't tried it yet on my Sterling but may now since you brought it up.

@AdmiralNeeda Yes I pick up all the brass and dump them into a 50 gallon drum then turn them in for cash once each year, usually around 300 pounds worth. The steel spent cases are usually just thrown away, no cash value.

@epicsr yes, the recoil buffers definately speed up ROF on AK's, it works on any gun really, it It just shortens the stroke that the bolt moves.

Interesting video. I've seen a semi-auto uzi disassembled and it is amazing how something with so few parts can do what it does.

Nice and easy mod. I once read a book written by a Vietnam war vet, a navy seal, and he talked about increasing the rof on the m60. He said you could increase it by dropping in a coin between some parts. His outfit used to carry spare parts for the 60 too, because reliability became a real issue. Also, my experience is that one can increase the rof on an ak47, almost the exact same way as you show with the uzi. Just drop in a rubbery block behind the boltcarrier, at the back of the receiver.
