http://integrationtraining.co.uk/embodiedmanagementtraining.html How harmful gender stereotype body posture in the media and portrayals of bad body postures and the body in the media create gender stereotypes and are harming us - warping our bodies and minds, making us aggressive or submissive. You'll never look at a magazine in the same way again after watching this rant. I'll probably be sued for this video but what the hell, it needs saying.

Much of my thinking around this topic comes from Paul Linden Sensei so a word of thanks to him too.

All the best from Brighton,
Mark Walsh.

  • Those male "abs" shots are airbrushed, too. Especially at 5:36, if he had those ribs, he would be anorexic or dead. Scary Skeletal.

  • @asklorraine true that!

We need more people saying this and living according to this

  • @eringolson great, share it around :-)

  • loved the video!

  • thanks. Interesting take on where it comes from - Hollywood definitely has a part...I wonder if Bollywood for example is as bad? Will have to look into that one! Food for thought

  • Great to see this! I've been picking up on these kinds of things a lot over the last few years, but this confirms it. At the risk of making generalisations, this is what I like to call Americanitis. The American media and Hollywood have perpetuated this state of mind for decades now, and it has only grown increasingly obscene. The paranoid part of me says it's some kind of social engineering, to keep us vulnerable, in a state of anxiety and easily manipulated to whatever ends are desired.
