Koevoet - Shadows in the sand- a Koevoet tracker's story

Koevoet, consisting of 90% black Namibians, was a police counterinsurgency unit. The unit dominated their enemy for 10 years during the Namibian Bushwar. They were slandered by their communist enemies and by liberals in the west. The fact remains, they were highly mobile, with huge fire power and their tactics were directed by arguabily the best trackers in the world. The teams nearly always got their man. Sisingi "Shorty" Kamango, now wheelchair bound due to wounds from the war, was one of those trackers. These are some of the never seen before images, some to be published in his book "Shadows in the sand- a Koevoet tracker's story" . The book is now available at bookstores and online book sites.

It is obvious your opinion is from a specific political and reference background. This book is about a person, not about a unit. Read it and you might just have another or a changed perseption. This book adresses various unjust issues. Murdering and abusing each others prisoners is only a small part.
