@ZoraElise2000 I understand if you mean the film is based on real life as in maids especially black maids in the 60's in America, but the actual story and stories within it aren't real. At the back of the book the author writes how she had a black maid as a young girl, but the stories within the book are not real. Although me and my friend were sure it was real until we read the book.
