A companion piece to the above videos, George Galloway speaks to another trio of idiiots on the England riots. Here is a summary of the three callers:
The 1st caller is a crazed caller who thinks that the people who looted and/or rioted should be subject to corporal punishment i.e publicly flogged because the bible believes it is OK to use corporal punishment.
2nd caller is a law and order hardliner who thinks anyone who riots should be jailed to the fullest extent of the law. He even thinks that anyone in possession of the stole should be jailed too! (That includes the young woman who had a cardigan while she was sleeping!) George Galloway challenges the caller by saying should the bankers who wrecked the world economy be jailed? The same bankers who fleeced the taxpayer. Should the MPs be jailed for claiming expenses in an unethical fashion? The caller couldn't bring himself to agree with Galloway. He is obviously on the side of the bankers. Galloway exposes him as some sort of hypocrite becuase he wants the poor to be punished severely yet the bankers/MPs should get away.
The 3rd caller is a radical extreme left-winger who viciously criticising Galloway (already a left-winger himself) of being a Tory colluding with the Old Etonians like David Cameron. Galloway dismisses him as being an ultra left-winger.
Originally broadcasted on talkSPORT 19th August 2011.
The police were told to stand off FACT. The people that believe what they see on TV now have their eyes fully on the wrong people once again and all of the anger that comes with that whilst the real criminals ie the bankers and MPs get off once more. When will people get wise to how things really work !

Yet again George is spot on. Why do ordinary people think bankers and MPs should be allowed to get away with stealing thousands of pounds whilst a rioter stealing a cheap bottle of mineral water should go to jail. Brainwashed by the MPs and media I think. A thief is a thief whether rich or poor.

Excusing criminality by comparing it to more criminality (in this case, MP's fiddling expenses), and saying that the latter is worse than the former, doesn't make a very reasonable argument. Galloway did the same thing with the calls regarding the law-breaking gypsies. It's like saying two wrongs make a right.

I am an American so no I do not know how much social benefit pays out. If you do not think people who stole during the riots should lose social benefit how should they be punished? I do not think community service is enough, looters need to be taught a lesson.

@Plato86 Do you know how much "social benefit" pays? It is not even enough to live on, so why would you want people to have taken away from them the VERY little they already have. Do you really want to see young people in this country starve? Next these "grab their benefits" right wing types will be calling for a return of chimney sweeps and the like....

Galloway is right that it is excessive to send a person to jail for stealing a bottle of mineral water or for handling a pair of shorts. However how should the U.K courts deal with these looters? I heard some say that looters who were on "social benefit" should be thrown off the dole.

@Idattani I never said the bankers shouldn't go to jail. This is all straw man arguments.
