hindustani music is very similar to jazz in the way that the musicians can just take one pattern and jam out on it in so many different ways, meandering in and out of solos and back into the main melodic pattern or raag. Expression and devotion seem to be a pan-cultural phenomenon!

Is "Viram" a Hindu name? He's definitely a Sindhi or a Gujarati (from Kaach). He's brilliant. He was on Led Zeppelin I.
