  • (4) Furthermore, police force wanted to attract more higher educated people to join as constable, one salary starting point higher for F.3 and one more point for F. 5 (one annual increment point was $35 in 1974). Therefore, please pay attention to the video in which it said that if Ah XX got a high education, his monthly salary could be a thousand dollar. (End)

  • (3) Govt wanted to eliminate the corruption in police force so every junior officer was added $75 per-month as living. Hence, a contable could actually got $1,025 a month in Feb 1974 (was not included in basic salary and could be terminated when finance became better). (continue....)

  • This video is misleading. It should be "70s Hong Kong Police Recuitment".

    As the salary was $320(Basic sal.)+$150(allowance) in late 60. In 73, the total income of a constable was a little bit more than $700. Until 74 and onward, the salary of a constable was up to thousand.
