PBS Stay Curious "Photo Booth" Spot

In this award winning TV Commercial for PBS, Directed by Documentary Filmmaker Errol Morris and Produced @Radical.Media, Elephant Cinema conceived of and executed the task of converting the Performance of Photo Booth Visitor (who happens to be a Professional Opera Singer) into an animation that "sang" in sync with the Music. A video camera (mounted on its side for a vertical aspect ratio) was used to capture the performance of the singer, and a random selection of 12 stills per second of footage were chosen and imported into the computer. The stills were then processed in Photoshop to look like actual "photo booth" pictures. We then printed hardcopies of each of the stills to generate the flipbook seen in the spot. SO MUCH FUN!

This is an old favorite of mine, too; thank you for posting.
However, I would simply point out that this is actually a promo. By FCC ruling, PBS is a non-commercial, educational organization that may air "enhanced underwriting" spots; but their stations are not licensed to carry commercials.

Bring back alot of childhood memories,thanks. :) Say,does anyone remember that spot with the guy and the tape recorder,where he flips it over and plays it backwords? It was one of the "Stay Curious" spots from PBS-I had it on VHS until the tape got eaten by the VCR. :(

This spot was shown before the movie. The audience laughed so hard and gave it a big hand. Brilliant! so are the other ones. "stay curious".
