A fisherman had broken his line, imprisoning this poor fish to a tree stump, and to a long...slow...death. The little fish had swallowed the barbed hook. At the time, to me, it was just a fish. When the guy I was with, ripped his glove off in 40 degree water, and risked running out of air just to save this fish, something finally clicked and I realized...all life is important, meaningful, and sacred.
