Flying my Coota,P-40, Stryker F27C & NEW F27Q . 2nd flight with the Q, launch with POWER ON, much easier. Tried Elevator drop, easy. Autofocus on camera kept wandering, made for difficult (& amusing) filming.
Tried the power off launch, dropped like a stone, never had a chance to touch the throttle.
Tried throttle in mouth & nudged it as soon as launched, worked ,barely.
With 1/3rd to 1/2 power max it launches safely & dosen`t accelerate into your hand, am used to launching the f27c with full power & have used a 7" prop on it (the Q prop is only 1/2" lower than the 7" on the C).
Must `follow through` on the launch & keep your hand moving forward & down away from plane.
WOAH WOAH WOAH.....NEVER LAUNCH THE F-27Q WITH POWER ON UNLESS YOU ARE HOLDING THE WING. you have a huuuge chance of prop strike on yuor hand if you do...
