  • I can't hear the theremin at all

  • @quelorepario it needs to be heard with bass-capable loudspeakers

  • oh cmon this is one of the coolest videos on youtube and so little views? there's something wrong with the world

  • @awsomeististy This device is an electronic musical instrument called the Theremin. It allows the musician to control two properties of sound: volume (loop antenna) and pitch (rod antenna). The theremin is played without being touched by the musician. It senses the electrical capacitance of the human body in mid air.

  • this is super groovy.

  • @cordeiropas Huh....weird, but interesting......thanks.

  • @purity4all No singing/humming. The sound comes from a loudspeaker and is 100% electronically generated. The theremin is the only analog instrument that doesn't require physical contact to be played :)

  • @cordeiropascoal But are you singing or humming too?

  • @purity4all the closer the hand is to the rod antenna, the higher the note. The farther from the loop antenna, the louder the sound.

  • @cordeiropascoal How do the moving hand affect the sound?

  • @neurocelso cats.

  • wow, this video just made my day!

  • I think I know why people think they can't hear the Theremin, it sounds so much like a contrabass, they don't think the Theremin's the one which makes the sound.

  • The 'world' must be watching on a laptop or small desk unit. I am on a MacOsX Snow Leopard, 24" screen and the balance between the piano and theremin is just fine. Great piece of music and engineering. (musician)
