Sorry - thought I had a comment here re: the tank. That was just a temporary bowl, half a gallon. He wasn't in it long; we moved him to a 2-1/2 gallon tank shortly thereafter.

Thanks! But alas, he went to the big fishbowl in the sky a few weeks ago (he was about 3-1/2 years old, so it was a good run).
He was lovely, though.
And now he has a successor, a little female betta who is similarly lovely and spoiled.

At Petco. Usually I prefer PetSmart, but I'm new to the area and I don't know where the nearest PetSmart is.
