KADAZAN Mother Looking after her padi field from a tiny house at Kodundungan

Whie waiting to photograph the sunset at the padi fields of Kodundungan Penampang, I noticed this Kadazan mum shooing away birds especially fat sparrows from eating away at the young corns of her padi, by pulling on the rafia strings which are interconnect to empty drink cans. These cans make lots of noise to scare away the birds from her fields. Lots of time spent waiting for the padi to grow and mature until harvesting time. Thats why padi farming is fast disappearing in Sabah, and this may be the last few videos of padi farms in Sabah as ithey will definitely be gone in future

SO SAD to inform my views that today I went back to this location only to find that the little green house has already been torn down and all that was left for me to photograph was the steps and some belian post for the house stilts.

The Kadazan mother wont be doing what she did this year because I heard they are going to sell the padi land.

So I am luck to take this video clip. THIS HAPPENDED to be the last time the birds are chased away from this little green house !!!
