This is a quick review of the new Mesa Boogie Mark V head in the 10 watt mode, Line 6 DL4 Delay modeler in the FX loop and a Foxrox Octron Pedal in front of the amp. The cab is a 2x12 custom cab loaded with Eminence Swamp Thangs rated at 75 watts each, audio was recorded with the on camera microphone. Please excuse the sloppy guitar playing, just a quick vid for my forum friends.

  • Question - is there a pop or delay during channel switching while using the footswitch?

  • @KornSOAD nope.

  • Is it the angle or do you have the longer head version? Mine seems a lot shorter.

  • @iraedivine13 the angle is straight on.

  • great vid ;)

  • @SalGuitar89 thanks!

  • @RezaMatix Your kidding! There is a huge, and i mean huge pop / clunk / beep / buzz, whata ever you like to call it, when channel switching on mark five amps. Its normal! They are all hard wired channels, thus when switching you are "not" switching settings, you are switching hard wired circuits, and yip, there is a big clunk / pop every time. :-)

  • @KornSOAD only if you have the different channels set to different wattages when you switch. Jump from 10 watt to 90 watt or vice versa and you'll get a pop.

  • What's the price on this

  • This is the first time i hear a good Mark V demo. Usually the ch1 demo is arpeggios, like a Metalicca ballad. Seriously... you can plug into your dads old stereo and get a passable sound to do that. CH3 demos and usually just dropped D chugging. You use this amp like I would.

  • Channel two just dropped my jaw

  • @RezaMatix Oh good. Cause I played the combo version at the Mesa Boogie store in hollywood, and it kinda had a pop. Luckily I'm going for the stack. Thanks. Great review man.
