Continuum Fingerboard - Noodling Squids

This is when I first got the Hakken Continuum Fingerboard. It really is an instrument of the future... and hopefully in the future I will learn how to actually play it rather than just this random noodling (which is still fun though). Great for effects that don't require precise playing but if you want to play this instrument you need some precision that is a cross between a keyboard and a fretless bass or violin... or Chapman Stick or... who knows what? It's an invention and really incredible! I love this thing. 98 notes. I like to call it a "fretless keyboard". I know that makes no sense but in a way it does! If you like King Crimson and/or cartoon music then sit back and enjoy. For everyone else, just check out a little bit of what this thing can do. They're not cheap though but man they ARE innovative!

I've since updated my Fingerboard and it has sounds now. This playing was just messing around. Takes some practice but I can play some actual music on it now. I'll post something at some point. LOVE this instrument!

y on earth would u get it without the pitch markings? you guys like JR, but how the hell could you possibly shred without pitch markings?

Because I got one of the very first ones before he had pitch markings. I have since replaced it with pitch markings... still hard to play! But worth learning for sure! Amazing instrument.

Ummm. Because I am not Jordan Rudess? Actually these videos were made when I first got it and was just playing around. I had plans to design sounds specifically for it and invent some instruments... all I need is some extra time!!!!!

@Trumavarium Continuum does not have sounds, Rudess use it with a Roland V-Synth rack ;)

pitch rounding does exactly this, when you first hit it, it plays the closest semitone, then allows you to slide
