  • this looks a lot better than the sega cd version i had. . . needless to say after the first house i removed the disc and gave it to one of my buddies for a super soaker 20.

  • @Raymiles2

For instance, frame rate is still limited because of the slow speed of the CD-ROM drive in the Sega CD/Mega CD: 1x (realtime).

The difference is not in pixel resolution but in color depth. Simply, the 32X has a larger palette to work with (32,768 simultaneous) than the Genesis/Mega Drive (64 out of a palette of 512).

But, that doesn't improve the overall game, it's an overambitious FMV title mired by the limitations in hardware and the overly difficult to make a non-linear game out of linear elements.

  • I have the MegaCD version. To be honest when all you're looking at is a screen of orange a slightly better resolution wont help much. As soon as I got to the second level where you're basically moving around a grid I gave up.

The improvement is primarily with the overall video quality.

The colors are much better on the 32X version than they are on the regular Sega CD version.

Try looking at the Sega CD version of the same game.

  • The sound quality is horrible, but I attribute that to whomever did the work and not the system.

And, I'm talking about whomever did the 32X CD version; I know this sound quality because I have a copy of this game and the required hardware to play it.

  • I dont see all that much of an improvement tbh

  • Ah, so while video was crappy on the CD alone, the addition of the 32X hardware made it look a lot better

  • this music is fucking great!
