Activist Carlos Quintanilla Released From Irving Jail

Flanked by supporters, Hispanic activist Carlos Quintanilla addresses questions from the media following his Thursday, October 17, 2007 arrest by Irving police.

Quintanilla was arrested for driving with an invalid driver's license and seven outstanding traffic tickts.

The arrest took place just hours ahead he was scheduled to speak at a rally to support immigration reform and a local city council meeting.

He was released more than an hour after the meeting was over.

He was supposed to speak out against Irving's Criminal Alien Program, which has resulted in the deportation of more than 1,600 illegal aliens.
