This is On Networks "Five Second Rule" video in which they claim that a student won a Nobel Prize for a study into the so-called "five second rule" for safely eating food that's been dropped. Except that the student didn't win a Nobel prize - they won an Ig Nobel prize in 2004 for improbable research (so, there was a real and proper study, but the programme researcher on this is an idiot).

The really interesting thing about the research they referenced was that most surfaces they tested were germ free. They finally resorted to adding germs to a surface to test the rule. So the truth is that it is usually OK to eat food off the ground, no matter how long it has been there.
