Running a Dr Z Remedy through a 1 x12 cab with a Webber Blue Dog 50 watt alnico together with Two Rock Jet through a 2 x10 cab loaded with alnico Tone Tubbies- Dr Z Remedy has a Rock Box Boiling point in front of it. Guitar is a PRS Single Cut 245- Ryan Griffin running the rig- ZZ Top type tones- at about 2:08 - the Dr Z is turned off and just the Two Rock is on - then about 2:30 it's the Remedy's turn- then later at about 2:44 - you can hear the change- both are kicked on.

  • The Z can be fairly clean and straight forward- really needs a pedal to get it to break up at lower volumes- the Two Rock is a two channel amp- so you can get clean and gain- little tricky to get it to balance out and sound just right- some of the differenence is in the cabs- Avatar has a single 12 Webber Blue- The other cab is 2 x 10 with red Tone Tubbies- they - in my opinion - are darker

  • Two different amps- the more I play with various amps- the more I favor a simpler set-up..... so with that in mind- I would have to say Dr. Z Remedy and a few pedals.... one amp that I will say sounds great on either channel is the Tone King Metropolitan - I have not loaded a demo of just the amp- but you can hear it in a couple of other vid's I posted on my channel- the Johnny B Good and Rocky Mtn Way

  • Love that Remedy with the PRS and Silver Bell!

  • Like the way you've worked to get that big two-amp tone. Isn't easy, lot of experimentation. But you play well, which is the bottom line.

  • Z sounds more raw, Two Rock is more smooth. Consistent with what I have experienced too.

  • So, Dr Z or Two Rock?
