German helmet and k98AZ dug up on ww2 battlefield

On a trip to the western front in Germany we found some nice battlefield relics; a M42 stahlhelm and a barrel of a K98AZ. They where dug up from former foxholes after been buried there for over 63 years! The helmet and liner where in a good condition, after cleaning green/gray paint appears. A very nice find!

Mooie vondsten alweer. ben wezen graven deze week in een bos bij polen en heb 1 m42 helm gevonden. Ook nog met de magneet een mg kist en een duitse m40 uit een meertje gevist!! de helm glimt zelfs nog net als de mg kist. Ook nog een russische helm gevonden in een schuurtje helemaal nog gaaf, en nog meer dingen. Voor de rest succes met jullie vondsten!!! Gr Nick

@k98100 Klinkt goed zeg, ja watervondsten kunnen behoorlijk goed boven water komen, leuk! Heb je er zelf ook een filmpje van gemaakt?

wist je dat sommige mensen wel 500 euro voor zo een stahlhelm vragen maar als ik jullie was zou ik dat niet doen

@trainedWWIIsoldier Ja het is net wat de gek er voor geeft maar 500 is wel erg veel. Ik heb nog nooit iets verkocht, wel weggeven. Als je het voor het geld zou moeten doen kan je beter je uren aan het werk gaan :-)

its all soooo cool !! not about the findings, but about the experience.. If i could ever go there and find something, i would give it to a museum or something, you know, not disrespecting the dead... not respectful when you take away from a dead man's his things

I think it is a good hobby, and you are finding great things of interest...

but stop and think what your doing, the way your pulling things out of the ground is not professional, one day you will just dig up something that ether is disrespectful to the war dead or is likely to blow you up!

At 1:50 when you take the helmet out of the ground you are lucky it didn't have a skull attached to a body in it. The only plus about that would be that you would find more kit. (on the body/skeleton)
