KREWE OF ARABI - February 23, 1982 - Chalmette, LA.

This is a video that either I shot or my pop's shot of a stalled float during the KREWE OF ARABI parade on Mardi Gras Day - February 23, 1982 in Chalmette, LA. I think there was a wreck that day that held up the parade. This was on the corner of Paris Road and Montesquieu. There's not much too this clip, just simpler times back in the Parish.

The KREWE OF ARABI ran from 1934 until it disbanded in 1987.

Totally awesome.  Another window in time to see Chalmette as it used to be. This is definitely early 80s by the music that was playing. "Stop Draggin' my Heart Around" by Tom Petty/Stevie Nicks and "Get Down On It" by Kool and The Gang.
