This touched me so much. First person i related to about this. I am 18 years old, and this is the first time I ever heard of trich starting the same way for someone as it did for me! I was 10, and I did the same thing- pulled out an eyelash for a wish. This girl..you are amazing. You have touched and inspired me. Youre going to be okay <3

omg little one u r so brave and beautiful. My little girl started pulling a little over ayear ago she only pulls her eyelashes as of now i can only hope and pray it remains this way and does not progress, The guilt i have is quite overwhelming for me becuz when she first started pulling i would fuss at her all the time not realizing or ever hearing that this was an actual diease. I've adjusted though , my biggest fear is her being teased at school especially being she is a very kind chld

I remember the first time I started pulling my hair out either I was 9 or 10 years old. I used to pull out only my eyelashes. Then in 7th grade I pulled the side scalp of my hair and eyebrows. Then eventually the urges would go away and then they would come back. I hope all works out for you sweetheart. Trich is horrible and eventually younwill probably stop. Good luck <3

i am 50, and i have never had the courage to tell anyone about my having trich

Thank you for your video, and I hope you realize that you've done a very good thing here by posting your wise thoughts and helpful tips so that other people can see they are not alone with this and what can help them. It's easy to see that you are a wonderful child who cares about other people. Hope things go well for you, sending lots of good wishes, take care!

My nine year old daughter also has trichotillomania. She began when she was about 3 or 4. First it was the eyelashes of her dolls, then the cats whiskers. Then she used stickers to pull out her eyebrows. From that point on she continued to pull out eyelashes, and eyebrows. At the present time she has patchy eyebrows and no eye lashes.
When her eyelashes are to short to pull, she has found the tweezers and used them. She is seeing a psychologist, but we are still struggling.
@lookatmysexyface i try really hard to be as supportive as possible without piutting any undue stress on audrey. Sometimes this means i hold my tongue when I really want to say something. Every is a battle for her and every day she doesn't pick, a small victory. But it is a hard road, for the both of us. She is a sttromg amd brave little girl, and I am proud of her.

@court5506 thank you. It has now migtated to her head, but we are learning new techniques and i have her teachers involved to help her. It is a continuous struggle, and we have to do some creative things with her hair to hide the bald spots. I suggeedt you join TLC, for me it has been a great help,
