After getting food poisoning in India and basically fasting for a week, I was starving, and on the hunt for delicious Vietnamese delicacies. The goal was to spend the entire day satiating my hunger, breakfast, lunch, dinner, desert and coffee. I had a mission on this one epic day to fill my empty belly in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

  • Pho 24 is not the best chain pho restaurant in saigon, I prefer pho 2000, next to ben thanh market...

and pho hoa, in pasteur st.

vietnamese foods itself has no special taste, the additional spices will make it yummy.

I still cannot eat food which added nuoc mam. hard to eat. but nuoc tuong is fine. :-)

  • @MrDosonhai There is a limit: usually related to violence against noncombatants. In America, we imprison people who infringe on the rights of others, but it's illegal to torture prisoners here; and, if anyone does, they get sent to prison. And, in our Declaration of Independence and our Constitution, there are provisions for the people to choose a different government, if they believe that the one in charge is oppressing the people.

  • @MrDosonhai I have references, if you'd like links to the articles. That way, you could judge for yourself.

  • @MrDosonhai Oh, there's one more reason that we're still stay as a Communist (more like Socialist now) because we care about the health care and the community, by staying Communism, we prevent any raise of price of any hospital in the country, helping the poor access to medical cares, same with electricity and water.

  • @MrDosonhai They'll be replaced (sorry about the last comment). What I'm saying is government, Communist or not, they are still Vietnamese, they can be quite dicks sometimes but if you know a Vietnamese, you know that we're not at all violent like the chinese, that's why most Vietnamese still accept to have a Communist party in our country, besides, they're doing well of getting this country back on its feet. It's been good talking to you ^.^

  • @dameon692002 I bet they capture those believers because they're trying to become anti-communists. Yes, in your country, you can do that, oppose the government without being captured but even when you're allowed, there's a limit to it, there's no way any government would let some one to take them down, isn't it? Besides, government born from the citizens themselves, if they're bad, they'll be They can stay there forever, can't they?

  • @dameon692002 Ask of right now, there are plenty of Christians in our country, heck, even some officials. What you're saying is just somewhat wrong, we don't torture any Christians that show their belief peacefully, there's no reason for that. As you can see, one of the biggest church built by the French is still here. I don't know about incidents recently caused by believers but unless you oppose the government, there's no doubt they're gonna have to do something about it.

  • @dameon692002 Christianity was a tool for the French to invade Vietnam, like god creates us, we should unite together as one, but on the outside, the French through that method had succeeded in creating a numbers of Vietnamese followed them. And yes, torturing is bad, but we're talking about a war here, when you're in a war, there's no room for moral, you do what it takes to win the war, even killing your own people (those who follow the French).

  • @MrDosonhai There can be no double standard. If torture is wrong for anyone, it's wrong for everyone. If it's wrong for one nonviolent group, it's wrong for every nonviolent group. Again, these are not armed seditionists; these are peaceful citizens, practicing their beliefs in private. For over a century, the French have favoured atheist and agnostic ideologies. How are the actions of the government against their own people any different from the actions of the French?

  • @MrDosonhai Okay. Here's the thing. First, Christianity is not part of any government. In fact, French culture has turned away from Christianity, for the most part. And really, is torture ever a moral option? The problem is, you're equating a religion to a government; one which has sided more with atheism and agnosticism in the last century. Nonetheless, we're not talking about insurgents (and again, is torture ever justifiable?) We're talking about people practicing a religion... even today.
