"There is no such thing as "the Iranians" or "the Chinese" or "the Americans" or "the Africans". The terms refer to millions of *individuals*. The terms are broad and general categories. As such, the terms are ineptly used in trying to attribute one detail to millions of individuals! The terms describe geographic coordinates and maybe food or culture. If talking national laws, cite the laws, don't lump it into a word that defines no more than geographics."

It's interesting that Iranians routinely belittle and degrade Azerbaijani people, and now that Anoush Ansari went to space and proved Azari superiority, Iranians are sucking up to her. Long live Azarbaijan!!

Oh #^%$ I JUST realized it this VERY second. This VERY second. I realized that we cannot be allowed to leave the planet. The VERY first thing that we, as humans, will do is divide it up according to National, Political, Religious, Ethnic, and any other thing we can find among each other to use as a divider. Until we overcome these differences we are not worthy of sharing the heavens. We are so worried about who gets credit we never stop to think that HUMANS as a whole get credit.

There's much more to this fantastic accomplishment Anousheh Ansari accomplished as a pioneer in the name of all humankind than political-speak. The stars have been shining long before any country had a name. Obviously many people posting here are lacking knowledge.

If Iranians are "sand niggers" then Norway is a desert.
People who usually say that have got no knowledge of Iran's climate or geography. When they hear the word "Iran" they see pictures of Baghdad with the Palm trees and the hot sun and they don't care if that is not Iran. We all know that Iran mostly consists of mountains and that our country is so much different from the stupid stereotypes of some ignorant people.

KPrandom, although Iranian women's clothing is strictly and unfairly regulated in Iran, the use of the "burka" is as foreign to Iran as it is to the US. The "burka" is worn in other countries, but never in Iran.

They get "beaten up" by the islamicregime, and not by their fathers or brothers for getting educated. It's actually more common in Iran that women attain Universities (70% of the students in Universities in Iran are women). Iranians OUTSIDE of Iran, like Anousheh Ansari are as "liberated" and educated (if not more) than any other Western lady.

I never said Iranian women get beat up by their families, nor did I imply it. I implied they get beat up by their government, which they do. The Iranian People live like slaves, they are not free in the least, though I hope for their liberation some day. Most Iranians who are outside of Iran had the money to escape, and to pay for their education. Notice that it is the Iranians OUTSIDE of Iran, like Anousheh Ansari who are liberated. Not the Iranians who are still INSIDE Iran, in a dictatorship.
