Title: T, 1948,12 Yama of Xanadu,
Artist: Morrigan & NOC (Must be the choruses)
Circle: WAVE
Album: ARCHIV-EAST
Original: 六十年目の東方裁判 ~ Fate of Sixty Years (Touhou Judgment in the Sixtieth Year ~ Fate of Sixty Years)

Ugh, sorry for the delay, yeah, well on the bright side from now on updates should be more steady. On the down side I start school Monday. T_T

Anyways, it's the 60th video, so that calls for a Shikieiki arrange, and what's better then effing chanting choruses?

So, there are 2 versions of this song by Morrigan, the first one, this one, was released in his "compilation" kind of album called ARCHIV-EAST, which has 3 discs, the first disc containing mostly new tracks and the latter 2 stuff grabbed from his previous releases.
The second version of this song was released in his Symphonic Fantasia "Cherry Blossom" album.
At first you'd think there are no differences, but you're gravely mistaken. This first version contains dominant chanting choruses, while the other version "Guilty or Not Guilty" has a dominant flute (with chanting choruses in the background).
Once again you are mistaken if you believe I don't like the other version, no, it was a hard choice, the flute really sends chills down my spine every time I hear it, but seriously when I say the word "EPIC" I mean chanting choruses of course, because, chanting choruses are the very meaning of the word EPIC.
Then again, EPIC isn't enough to describe how effing awesome this arrange is.

I really wish Morrigan would perhaps release another Touhou arrange album like the two ones he released already. One of the greatest masterpieces in Touhou orchestras.

Out of all the songs in ZUN's repertoire Shikieki's theme must be the one that really makes you scream out "THIS IS EFFING EPIC!!!", it brings final boss battles to a whole new level.

"Obviously, a theme for a last boss. A melodious last boss theme is a Touhou trademark. This time, Japan + rebirth + sakura country are the images I mixed together.
This song full of strength and ephemerality is a song for the as-yet unseen most beautiful land of sakura.
As silly as the whole game may be, this piece alone evokes strong feelings."
- ZUN, Translated by Touhou Wiki

Me and Chaos have a surprise for you peeps in the next videos "61-70" I won't reveal all the details, instead lets wait for Chaos to make his way to his 60th video and let him break the news to you guys. You'll find it kind of ironic how the very symbol of Touhou's "JUSTICE" is at video 60 leading such an event.
Shikieiki is supposed to be the "Judge of Hell" but actually she's pretty much the utmost supporter of the word "justice" in Touhou, being a Judge, in other words, the highest most "RIGHTEOUS" element in Touhou. Even ZUNG says so himself:

"Moreover, whenever a living person's karma level is so bad that it becomes certain that he will go to Hell, she will go directly to warn that person during her work break, and may even "urge" the person to better himself."
- Hieda no Akyu (ZUN), from Perfect Memento in Strict Sense, translated by Touhou Wiki

  • You are now frozen in fear as the Judge of Paradise stands before you. Every action, good or bad, that you have taken in life flashes before your eyes. You are acutely aware of the evil you have committed before death. Every time you spoke selfishly. Every time you acted rashly. Every time you hurt someone.

You can do nothing but pray that the good you have done outweighs the bad. The Yama raises her Rod of Remorse...

"In the name of the Yama of Paradise, I declare...your soul will reside..."

  • Because I have no life, I've spent some time imagining how Touhou would work as a series of films. Essentially I devised the player characters of each game travelling to the goal seperately then temporarily combining their forces to defeat the final few bosses, but that didn't work for PoFV because ALL the characters are potentially playable. Then I realised the final battle of that could just be Shiki beating up all the others while this music plays, because the Yama is SICK OF YOUR BULLSHIT.

  • this is so beautiful!

  • i keep hearing DANZAI! damn you IOSYS!

  • I have no idea why, but the word "EPIC" would always come out of this.

    Totally... judge.

  • This song will play when I decend on Congress if they pass SOPA

  • One of the best thing's on the internet.

  • I DEMAND LYRIC TRANSLATION....NOW!!!!

  • I've been a person that admires Touhou from afar for a good amount of time, played a couple of the games, and search up fan art from it for some time. I've been on a fan music kick for a while and I came upon this song while I was doing some math homework. Needless to say-- I did that homework with some serious gusto while this was going.

  • "HYAA!" :O So scary! *favorites video*

  • I tried to picture a godly image of heaven's court to match that song... But it just won't come, this is way too epic for my imagination to handle
