This video has been a long time in the process, it took many months to try and get a copy of this song to go along with this slideshow of Uncle Alberts home, Buchans! This entire video is dedicated to the memory of my Uncle Albert Simmons of Buchans Newfoundland, who in his life time had worked at the ASARCO mines in Buchans Newfoundland, i also had the pleasure of his company for the 1st 30years of my life, with Uncle Albert and my Father we spent many a night under the stars at Upper Gumby hydro dam, Granite lake, and Star Lake, going on many trouting trips, i even had the pleasure of going on my very 1st Moose hunt with Uncle Albert and father in the Tucks Valley area of Newfoundland, where we also spent a full day collecting firewood and logs to have a huge bonfire, it was awsome!

You well forever be missed Uncle Albert, thanks for the all the good memories at your cabin on the banks of Red Indian Lake, located near a area called by Uncle Albert "Sandy".

  • I could wax on for a long time about my memories, and I only attended school, dances, and Hockey games there. So, just imagine how the ones that were born and raised there feel. I love where WE come from. I don't believe that it is a lot different from many of Newfoundland's beautiful little towns anywhere on this Island, including my hometown, it's even smaller neighbour, Millertown. What beautiful memories this thoughtful video has stirred up for me.

  • Very nice tribute to Albert. I remember him and his family, they lived next street from our house. Song's great too.....A working man he was.....

  • i love this video ... very well done .... perfect song too ... God bless Newfoundlanders
