exit, I assume that Eglon's slaves must have peered through the window and saw that Ehud was no longer there, but due to the smell and perhaps even seeing the feces, they thought he was "easing nature".
Also interesting to note that some bible translations omit the part with the feces.
Anyway, as sick as this story seems to some, it is fascinating to read about this godsend assassin's story. Brilliantly written if you ask me.

Interestingly, many bible translations render Judges 3:22 as ending with a statement that the blade got stuck in Eglons belly, was covered by his fat, and (as so often, when people die), the dung / dirt / fecal matter came out / he emptied his bowels.
So dead Eglon sat with his head bowed down on his throne and a lot of his excrement must have been on the floor before the throne.
As we know, taking a dump right in the middle of the room was common back then.

thanks. i liked this story. it is also not too well known, but it is a prime example of how God hears and answers prayer and His faithfulness is everlasting.
