fix for hp tx1000 no video or boot. this is not permanent, but has worked on a couple of these poorly supported laptops.. it should keep your laptop working until you can get a new laptop. hopefully not a hp until they make up for their disgrace..
just press firmly down on the keyboard. dont hit, just apply about 15 pound of distributed force.. if it doesnt work, apply a little more force, just remember too much can damage the case.. this actually works.. did on 2 laptops on first day..
My laptop has had problems out of the box.. i was calling technical support within 5 hrs of buying.. both hp and comp usa where i bought it refused to warranty a bad speaker.. had no sound for 6 months til i felt sorry for their lack of incompitence and repaired the speaker myself.. dont they test these things before shipping.. note, when buying a laptop (even if new in box from compusa) take it out and try everything before leaving the store.. I then tried to get my money back from paypal since they are supposed to warranty against bad purchases, but they refused to help to saying i had the laptop? i offered to give it to them.. sad that reputation has no meaning these days, just making a buck.. I'll take donations for a new laptop! Update, been over 4 months, still working from this fix.. before you give up on your laptop, try this.. I personally had to do it only once on my laptop.. please leave feedback if it works for you.
new update: gave it to my son a couple weeks back.. he dropped it a few times and it quit working again.. I tried this and it didnt work a second time.. so, i tore it apart to the motherboard.. the network card quit a month too mind you.. I used a heat gun i set up to not overheat 500 deg.. I heated up the main chips on the board slowly and allowed all to cool slowly.. put the computer back together and now even the network is working.. My advice is if you can get it to work, expect it to die again someday if shaken, so take it to someone who can heat solder it.. I can fix, but not cheap because i'm not into doing it full time.. email me if you cannot find anyone.. eemtech@hotmail.com

  • HP makes good computers, even Toyota has some issues not to long ago. No one is perfect, but HP is better than Dell and many other crappy brands out there....

  • @GraveDigger0 even with this problem, i upgraded to the tx2 then the tm2 and love it.. not a problem after almost a year.. hp fixed their mistakes! they just stuck us with the ones they didnt fix back then.

  • Hi,

Woooow, what for a Trick. Good Job. I had this Problem one month ago and i've paid 50€ to solve it. But 4 Weeks after Repairing, i have the same problem again and with your video i could solve it. Wooow again.

    just thanks man

  • @kiarash7755 sad, but they probably fixed it with my solution? It is not permanent i can say.. once it starts, you can do this tricks a few times, but i recomend to upgrade.. When it dies, its gone..

  • With my current job situation (or lack thereof), it was a MAJOR deal when my Hp tx1000 didn't boot this morning. There is no way we have the funds to repair or replace. I can't thank you enough for saving me!!! Hopefully, this is the first and only time I have to do this. Shame on Hp!

  • @MissKiff1 lower your video resolution to help stop the problem from happening.. also make sure the blower doesnt get too hot.. good luck..

  • what the fuck!!! it worked! THANK YOU MAN!!!!!!

  • The reason why this works when you press the j k and l buttons with the palm of your hand is because you are applying pressure to the back side of the system board where the GPU (Graphics Processor Unit ie. Nvidia chip) is attached via BGA (Ball Grid Array) very small solder joints to the system board.. over time the joints degrade with heat and age on the HP laptops for a DIY fix I have a video in my channel or .. you can always send out to a shop for re-Flow but may cost

  • Ja ja ja, that will not definitelly be an HP, share the experience dude, I have a slimline and it was headche until I removed all the extra software. Also Im technician and those are the most difficult computers to repair to bad that they are also cheap and because of that they are to common.
