Even if you disagree with their opinion about slasher movies (I honestly feel the same way they felt about modern day "torture porn" movies like Hostel, Saw, and others like them), you can't deny that this kind of intelligent conversation about the arts is sorely missing nowadays. I think even their own show got less and less intellectual as the years went on.

Did they just group THE HOWLING in with these slasher films? Didn't they see that film? The brief synopsis Gene gave for that was completely inaccurate and misleading.
Don't get me wrong, I love me some vintage S&E, I grew up on them...but they sometimes were guilty of being overly dismissive of certain films they deemed not sophisticated enough for their audience, particularly in regards to the horror genre.

What a couple of fucking morons. Men die just as often as women in slashers and women are usually the lone survivors who defeat the evil in the end. Get a fucking clue you reverse sexist bastards.

Hee hee, I flagged this as innapropriate in the "Scam" category.

@97garfieldfan What, you actually think these limpdicks are actually telling something "Intelligible"?
I think your the only sick one here.

You can spend all day rebutting these assholes, but there is no need to. This suffices:
It's. Just. A. Movie.
There. Any argument against the morals of any film whatsoever in which all actors were voluntarily in it, is void.

@Sleepingsparklegirl Actually in a study on slasher films they found that not only did male and female deaths tend to be round the same number of instances, if anything there were slightly MORE instances of male deaths in slasher films. Plus it's been argued that if anything slasher films try to make you identify with the women more due the fact that the person who defeats the killer in the end is almost ALWAYS a girl. I see no exploitation here.

I've never liked Ebert or this show, and this episode is a prime example of why. This show is wrong in pretty much every level. Of course the most retarded point they bring up is how they believe slasher films are a way of telling women to get back in the kitchen. They don't seem to realise that A: The survivor who defeats the killer is almost always a girl, and B: That the people who make slasher films aren't exactly trying to put a message across. It's stupid and fucking ignorant.

7:05 Thumbs up if you think that the tagline should of be changed to ''You have been Warned... By Gene Siskel & Roger Ebert of Sneak Previews''.

One Sick idiot disliked this.
THANK you for sharing.
I Loved "Sneak Previews". I watched it every week!
Say, I think you can hear the noise in the background (of your home, or whatever?) as this is being taped.
Just saying ...

What you're hearing, because I hear it too if you have the volume up load enough, is another audio track of the same show, only its not syncronized with the video. So if you have it loud enough, you can hear (for example) Ebert say something in this background track before you actually see him say it. Then a few seconds later you hear and see him say the same thing in the foreground audio. I'm sure this phenomenon has a name. I've seen it before, not that I know how to fix it at the moment.
