The battle for control of Cote d'Ivoire appears to be reaching a climax as forces loyal to the internationally recognised president, Alassane Ouattara, attacked the presidential palace in Abidjan to try to unseat the incumbent leader, Laurent Gbagbo. The UN says both sides should rein in violent attacks, as civilians become caught up in fighting. But as the offensive continues, what lies ahead for Cote D'Ivore remains uncertain. So, is the country sliding into civil war? Or would an outside intervention bring the conflict to an end?

  • @ElectronixCore You rant as one who is both ignorant and foolish. Many of your kind fail to realize that Europe and America had over 300 yrs of practice in "democracy". But even that is beginning to crumble! But not to worry, as seen in 9/11, trouble will inevitably be heading towards your doorstep as well. You're only living in a FALSE SENSE OF SECURITY and time will surely tell who the real morons are. & FYI, Africa is a CONTINENT with 55 countries. Of the 55, ONLY 6 are unstable. White FOOL.

  • @chante1977ify I beg to difer on your statement. If you know anything about the gulf of Guinea, you'll understand the significant amount of oil that lies offshore Ivory Coast. The transform African margin in the gulf of Guinea constitute 9% offshore Siera Leone, 6% of Ghana, 100% Liberia and 100% Ivory Coast. Ghana just striked 6billion+ barrels of oil with potential for more, Sierra Lone just made two major discoveries and more drilling are schedule 2011. Liberia just saw US Chevron showed up!

  • @AgelAssassin wow! I see why the French is trying so hard to get Mr. Gbagbo out of office. One fact aht is true and will never change is that Europe is poor and it's based on Africa natural resources that it has built it's empires by means of colonization. Those days of controlling Africa for the exploitation of her mineral wealth are long gone but the reality has faild to set in the minds of the West.

  • World Police, down on the ground!

  • @MacMaraScott I really feel sorry for you because you don't even comprehend the kind of trouble that's heading towards the west. Keep living your false sense of security. Very soon, the whole world will know who the animal and uncivilized humans are. Moron.
