This episode of Behind the Scenes covers the construction of our newest exhibit, "Grizzly Gulch."
Gogo Heinrich gives us a glimpse of the 3-acre, naturalistic habitat being built for our Grizzly Bears, Kachina and Kiona. The exhibit will encourage natural behaviors, as well as provide an up-close perspective of the bears through an underwater viewing window.
Grizzly Gulch is one of the largest zoo exhibits dedicated to grizzly bears, featuring a lush, forest environment the bears to explore, dig and romp. In the center of it all is a massive waterfall, perfect for the grizzly girls to relax under and fish for an afternoon snack.

It turned out amazing. I hope same thing is happening for the polar bear, because he always seems really sad when we visit. But I haven't been there in about six months...
