According Tew AynRand...Everybody needs a unifying System of Belief tew Order his Decisions. Religion Does that ....but with canned answers and ridiculoussuperstitiousfaith beliefs and contradictory God Attributes!! Does Unitarianism Keep Religious Moral Codes, but question with Logic and Reason..the SUPERSTITIOUSNESS of Religons?? WAAR thinks So!!

Thanks for commenting, waar king! Yes, you're absolutely right. It's a big tent in terms of belief systems (room for funcultists!) that people come from, BUT it's deeply humanistic at its core... Stated sources for UU include "Wisdom from the world's religions which inspires us in our ethical and spiritual life..." But ALSO "Humanist teachings which counsel us to heed the guidance of reason and the results of science, and warn us against idolatries of the mind and spirit." :-)

But also, spiritual belief (or disbelief) is just one part... UUs like action. Otherwise what good is belief? Don't just sit there and preach, get out and make the world better! For everyone! More Unitarian ministers marched with MLK than from any other denomination, UUs founded the ACLU, and generally have a long history of being involved with everything from women's rights to the environmental movement.

This holy book is self contradictory to the point of insanity. Even believers won't give the same answer to a question about any certain passage.

Are they colorful stories that were meant to teach, if any is not absolute truth then how do you know what to trust? Is it all made up?

If it is absolute truth then how do you reconcile the, 400k+ kills by god, 2mil+ directed by god, human sacifice, genocide, (women, children, unborn) and much more?
