On 11/11/11 I shot some incredible locations in Southern Utah with the GoPro 1 and 2 strapped to my remote control wing. Most of these were shot with the Hero 2. We had some really close proximity flying, and only two wipe-outs.

I had a few friends along for the trip who made it that much more enjoyable.

The rock formations in this video are indicative of what Southern Utah is like - a combination of bright red Navajo sandstone, bleached white Navajo sandstone, and lava rock peppered with green foliage. This combination creates some incredibly dramatic scenes.

  • Great vid, been sharing it around. Just wondering, what was the title of the song? thanks!

  • @TheBlackKnob Song is "Francais" from ShockWaveSound. It's a stock audio file that I licensed and modified for this video.

  • What time of year was this?

  • Mid November 2011.

  • Are you guys pros? This footage is awesome ... v neat job ;)

  • @EuropaTube Being a pro suggests you're getting paid to do it, which I'm not. I do this for recreation. It's just about the most exciting thing you can do without putting your life on the line actually doing it in a squirrel suit, hang glider, or other flying contraption.

  • Awesome video! What was the cut of music you used?

  • love the parts of the clip with no music :)

  • @toddsher2112 What sort of bureaucratic maneuvering do you have to accomplish in order to fly FPV in such wilderness regions?

  • 5.16 ouch

  • you are the bets rc pilot i have ever seen, i know you had a gopro camera on your head, but you still rool at it

  • @toddsher2112

While you were flying, did you have some type of real time camera so that you could see where you were flying via a video receiver? I know that the gopro camera either has a wireless receiver for the camera, or they soon will.
