THIS HORSE WILL LAUGH IT'S METAL SHOES OFF FOR A MINT.
(ok so it's not really laughing, but would like to know why it does this whenever it eats mints).
will get some more pics on if enough people request it.

  • @Bailey918 ah yeah sorry i always smell that wrong XD..and being a female will affect it thats why i was wondering horses more often than not will look like or actually use the flehmen reaction when a human female is petting on them because unlike horses our hormones and pheramones are always 'on' so to speak where as a mare's will die down after she goes into heat

  • @LittleMustangMare ...thanks so much! I think what you're talking about is flehmen and there are a few reasons they do it. To smell a mare in heat, or when they get a 'whiff' of a new smell, they want to take it in and 'remember' it so to familiarize themselves with it should they ever smell it again.I've noticed they will wiggle their upper lip and try to "scratch" me when I'm scratching their bellies, backs, under their legs, chest and neck. It's just their way of saying I like it! Im female.

  • @Bailey918 your really really close. just out of curiosity are you a guy or a girl? this action is called phleming(could be spelled wrong) they usually do this in the wild when they smell a pile of manure from another stallion or the urine of a mare in heat. there are also other things they will naturally do this to but they escape me at the moment ..i'm sure you can wikipedia it just look for horses phleming but yes its a way to imprint or catagorize the smells as important.

  • Horses "wrinkle" up their nose, which appears likes it's smiling, but that's just how they smell things. Usually they will only do it when it's something they like. We have a horse in Colonial Williamsburg that will do it me when I go to visit him, he likes the way I smell, lol cuz he does it without me giving him anything to eat. I believe when they smell things in this manner it's also a way to 'implant' the smell on their brain so they'll recognize it next time. But that's just my thought.

  • Love it!

  • what a beautiful horse

  • BA BA BA BRITTNEY SONNNNNNNNN!!!! naaaay :E

  • it covers its nostrils with it's lips to 'smell' the food.
