Inc. magazine unveiled its annual exclusive list of America's fastest growing private companies, the Inc. 500|5000. And MyBinding.com made that list. Ranked according to our percentage revenue growth from 2007 to 2010, MyBinding has soared at 141% growth increase. Let's take a look at what this company is doing.
"We really do consider service as a part of what we do. What we try to do is to emulate companies that we've seen that are excellent at customer service. Our goal is that when a client calls that the phone is answered by a real person. And that that person, then, is empowered to answer their question, take care of the needs of the client. We actually have an entire room with this equipment in there. When they're looking at the same machine that our clients buy, the customer service person then can actually walk them through the unit. Because again it's not just plastic combs that people are buying. It's not just coil, it's not just wire. It's not a two hundred dollar binding machine. It actually has great value to the person."
In these tough economic times, MyBinding has figured out how to provide a service, create jobs, and make a profit.
"People, when they place an order on the internet, there's some apprehension. So the approach that we've taken as a company with that is that 90 percent of our products ship from our own warehouse within 24 hours. We currently have over 20,000 square feet dedicated just to having the product available on hand."
Adjusting to what the customer needs, marketing itself well, and adventuring into the front tiers of e-commerce, this small business of about 50 people in Hillsboro, Oregon, is enjoying this growth. And what does this Inc. 5000 recognition show to them?
"It shows that the ideas that we have and the way we do business works. Just as a lot of our customers are very loyal to us, we try to be loyal to our vendors. People that call us are calling back again and again. It's about account retention. And for a company to grow at the rate we've continued to grow in this economy, this is that testament of American spirit. And we are a family owned company. We started out with myself and both my sons were involved. But more importantly, all of the staff members here, the people that work with us, are the people that really make this place go. We currently have about 56 staff members. We believe in family and we believe in those people individually. We try to do things to make it an enjoyable atmosphere. We have parties, we bring in lunches, you know, we do a lot of goofy little things, you know, but the truth of the matter is that if you're happy in the job that you're doing, then when a client calls in, they're going to have a much better outcome with their calls."
The employees work hard, they're paid well, and they've become a top source for all binding and presentation needs.
